Sadhana Kala Kendra
Established in 1991.A.D with an acute insight to preserve
Nepalese art, culture and civilization. Sadhana Kala Kendra, a government
registered and recognized music school which has experienced so far Seventeen
years springs in serving the rays of knowledge in the various fields of music,
song and dance to the thousands of minds by the expert hand and even in
dedicating varieties of colorful program to the various parts of the country. It
has been able to enjoy the name, fame and a wide range of collection of modern
musical ideas and instruments as well.
Sadhana Kala Kendra
is the only
organization in the country, which has its campaign to preserve the art and
Culture, which are indangered. It has discovered the unique tribes and their
Culture, which are yet unseen and unknown within the country for this holy
purpose.
Sadhana Kala Kendra has been organizing NATIONAL FOLK DANCE
COMPETITION each year since 1996 with cash prize of Rs.100,000. (One Hundred
Thousand). It has been offering free accommodation to all the participants
around the country for the period (i.e. 3 days)

Besides, with a
commitment to pay honour and award to the Veteran artists who has contributed In
the Nepali Musical field, Sadhana Kala Kendra has been distributing the
prestigious award ‘SADHANA SAMMAN’ every year to the Singer, Lyricist, Music
Composer, Musician, Actor, Art Journalist and Dance Director since 1995 till the
date.
Sadhana Kala Kendra has also successfully organized the following
National Level Program of national importance.

organization has received commendation letter on the occasion of the birth day
of Great King Prithivi Narayan Shah and National unity day for presenting
'Dhime' dance, a traditional dance in Nepal

stood first position on Rajkarnikar dance competetion
- The
organization has presented dance and songs on the occasion of the 30th birthday
of late Prince Dipendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev; Nepal Atheletic Cultural
Association organized the program.

performed the responsibility of cultural programme during recently held 'Ilam
Festival

Purbeli Maruni Dance (Special
Ilam)
The dance is performed in the eastern Mountain region of Nepal.
This dance is especially performed while celebrating Deusi and Bhailo (one of
the biggest festival of Nepal). In this dance Purbeli Madal is played (one of
the typical musical instrument of Nepal. Among it Purbeli Madal is quite bigger
and larger in its size). Performers perform their dance in the surrounding and
foot tapping movement in the continuous beat of Purbeli Madal, wearing pate
Jama, Chaubandi Cholo dropping Furka in the both side of Patuki in a very
amicable and interesting manner. Though this dance is supposed to dance by the
male dancers only it seems the discrimination of women at that time not to allow
them to dance. But in this dance we present all the female dancers to represent
Purbeli dance Maruni.
Dhimal Dance (Special East Terai)
 Dhimal are
the ethnic minority in Nepal. They in habit in a particular region of eastern
terai Nepal. However they are rich in their own culture and have significant
contribution in the Nepalese culture, scenario Agriculture is the main
occupation of the Dhimals. A part from agriculture, fishing, weaving and hunting
have also been prominent among them. The dance is always in the group. Both male
and female take part in this dance. While dancing they carry a pot at the side
to put fish. In this dance boys wear Bhoto, Kachhad and West Coat. Where as the
girls wear Tharu dress and Ornaments like Kali, Kanthe and Huseli. Their dresses
they wear are made by themselves. They never buy any dresses from
anywhere.
Tamang Selo Dance
(Special Makwanpur, Sindhupalchowk,
Kavre)

Scattered from the east of Mechi to the west of Mahakali the
Tamang have been seen living around Kathmandu valley in the countryside. Follows
of Buddhism they are hard working and fun loving. They have their own
traditional musical instrument popularly known as Damphu 32 nail on the
instrument stand for 32 features of Lord Buddha. As this dance performed in its
tune it is widely known as the Damphu dance. This dance is performed in the
feasts and festivals. This time the boys get the opportunities to choose the
girls and they carry the girls and take away to their own home. So mostly the
teenegers never miss these kinds of festivals. In this dance boys wear Daura
Suruwal, Patuka, Bakhhu, Kalo Topi and carry Damphu. Where as the Women wear
Choli and Big frock as they have to walk up and down in uneven paths and they
wear Sirbandhi, Sirful, Dhungri, Bulakhhi, Fuli,Cheptesun, Naugedi, Jantar,
Tikmala, Chhadke Tillahari and Ghale.
Bhairav-Kali (Special Kathmandu
Valley)
This is one of the classical and traditional dances of Nepal,
which is popular in the Kathmandu valley where it has originated. As the name
implies, it is a religious dance supposed to have been danced by Bhairav and
kali. Bhairav is a form of the god Shiva and kali, his consort, the mother of
the universe. So the responsibility of protecting the universe is that of
Bhairav and kali.
Thal Dance (Special Myagdi, Baglung)
This dance
is particularly performed in the western region of Nepal especially in the
Myagdi and Baglung district of Nepal. This dance is very anxious and astonishing
type of dance. This dance is performed by carrying two dishes in the two hands.
There are no historical facts about this dance but the Thal dance which is
performed in the eastern region of Nepal has some sort of mythical stories
according to the historians. This dance is said to be famous by the people who
used to go to India for work and they teach this dance to the villages. This
dance is performed by male and female both in the rhythm of
Madal.
Lahure Dance (All Nepal)
Nepalese people are known for
their bravery all over the world. The ethnic groups of Nepal especially Gurung,
Magar, Rai community are demanded for peace force and army in many countries, so
as to show their bravery in war. Therefore these people are hugely migrated in
the foreign countries. When they arrive in their home country, Nepal in their
holidays in the festivals and occasion they go to their village and sing and
dance between their young friends (i.e. thita thiti) amicably but when they
departure from their country to work, all the villagers weep and cry for missing
them. This is their worst moment with in the short span of their time. In the
mean time they compromise and be excited as the Lahures are departing to in
hance the name fame and money of their community and Nepalese worldwide. Lahure
dance represents this tradition and Culture of Lahure Community.
Shyabru
Dance (Special Hill Eastern Part) In the language of the Sherpa people
who live in the high Himalayan slopes of northern Nepal, 'SHYAB' means feet and
'RU' means movement or rhythm, so the dance Shyabru means rhythm feel. The
Sherpa as are brave, intrepid people, known world over as superb mountaineers.
They live hardly lives and face unimaginable hardship with courage and a
smile.
Maghauta Dance (Special Dang)
This dance is very popular
dance within the Tharu community leaving in a mid western region of Nepal. This
dance is performed by Tharus in the occasion of Maghi Sankranti (Maghi) which is
their main of festival, which lies in the month of Magh that is in the month of
January February. Dancers beg money from home to home. Thus while they dance and
beg money it is known as Maghauta dance (literally meant as
begging)
Chhaliya Dance (Special Mahakali, Seti, Bheri)
This dance
is a famous dance in the hilly region of far western region of Nepal. This dance
is performed without any discrimination of cast tribe by the people leaving in a
village especially in the occasion like wedding Bartabandha (a ceremony where a
young male lad of a family is proved to be matured to do a social happenings)
Pasani (where a newly born child is given a name by spiritual guru) Male and
Female perform this dance wearing local customs playing famous musical
instruments such as Daino, Damaha, Jhhyali, Hudka, Bigun, Ghunghar, Khakar
etc.
Hudkeli Dance (Special Far Western of Nepal)
This dance is
mainly performed in the hilly areas of the far western development region. As
this accompanist the traditional musical instrument Hudka, it has been given the
name Hudkeli dance. The performers even use shield and sward while dancing. As
it is performed in the marriage ceremony it wishes for the happiness and
prosperity of the married life. The head of the performers having Hudka play a
key role in it.
Garra Dance (Special Shankhuwasabha, &
Sagarmatha)
This dance is a popular dance performed by the Darji
community (known as tailors who sew the cloth) people leaving in the eastern
hilly region of Nepal like Panchthar and Bhojpur district of Mechi and Koshi
Zone. Darjis perform this dance in the occasion like Dashain and Tihar with
their full strength. This dance is performed with joking and making fun within
male and female dancers Musical instruments such as Madal, Sanai, Jhyamta,
Majura is played in this dance where as white Daura Suruwal, black coat, Dhaka
Topi, patuka is weared by male. Female wear Choli, Fariya, Patuka in clothing
and Dhungri, Madari, Phuli, Sirbandi, Pote in ornaments. This dance is famous
due to its communal presentation.

It is running its own ultra modern digital recording studio
(probably with the best latest technology in Nepal) named ‘SAPTAK RECORDING AND
RESEACH CENTER’ in Kamalpokhari, Kathmandu established under the same roof of
SADHANA KALA KENDRA.
Producing and telecasting a popular international
program DESH PARDESH in NEPAL TELEVISION for the first time in its history for
more than two years, based on the messages given by the Nepalese professional,
workers and student receding all over the world by their compulsion and
promoting and showing their receding countries and its famous places to the
Nepalese people which happens to be the promotion of Tourism worldwide in Nepal
for the development of its mankind which gives the coverage in more than 72
countries from NEPAL TELEVISION.
